How do i measure my ring size?(or bracelet?) |
| If you have one that fits you, the simple way is to measure the inside diameter.
Or,Find a piece of string or strip of paper.
Wrap it around the base of your appropriate finger. Make sure the paper fits snugly. You should be able to slip it over your knuckle.
Using a pen - mark the point on the string/paper where it overlaps forming a complete circle.
Measure the length from the starting end of the string/paper to the pen mark using a ruler with a millimeter measurement,
to determine your ring size,we will do the rest......... or just look at the right measurement at the chart bellow:
Ring Size
(USA)----(mm)
# 3 = 44.1 mm,
# 3.5 = 45.4 mm,
#4 = 46.7 ,
# 4.5 = 48.0 mm,
# 5 = 49.2 mm,
# 5.5 = 50.5 mm,
# 6 = 51.8 mm,
# 6.5 = 53.1mm,
# 7 = 54.3mm,
# 7.5 = 55.6mm,
# 8 = 56.9mm,
# 8.5 = 58.2mm,
# 9 = 59.4mm,
# 9.5=60.7 mm,
# 10 = 62.0 mm,
# 10.5 = 63.3 mm,
# 11 = 64.5mm,
# 11.5 = 65.8 mm,
# 12 = 67.1mm,
#12.5 = 68.3mm,
#13 = 69.6mm,
2)An easy way is to measure one of your rings.....take a ruler and measure the inside diameter in mm....(or inner circumference).we will do the rest..........

What is Mokume Gane? |
| Mokume-Gane was invented by Denbei Shoami (1651-1728), who lived and worked most of his life in Akita Japan.
Mokume-Gane literally translates to mean wood grained metal. The technique of developing a pattern much like wood grain(rings) is a result of the principle of diffusion; the bonding of layers of metal, without the use of solder or flux, using at least two different colored metals or alloys. The mokume can have as 24 (and more..)layers of metal , becoming one homogenous mass.
Patterns like wood grain then could be achieved after alternately carving and forging, resulting in topographical patterns. There are no limitations as to size, thickness or pattern.
There is no doubt that Denbei Shoami was influenced by the swordsmith and adapted those principles of forge welding to begin Mokume-Gane.
When you order a mokume piece, other then the one on the site, the pattern will never be exactly the same,it's hand made and due to the special technique,it can never be duplicated.....exactly.....
